WHY QUALITY FABRICS ARE IMPORTANT

WHY QUALITY FABRICS ARE IMPORTANT

In the fashion industry you will often hear the words “high quality”, but what does that really mean?

First and foremost, high-quality fabrics are purchased from trusted wholesale suppliers that use ethical and superior production techniques. These manufacturers carry fabrics that are created using top of the line fibres. Poor quality fabrics are often produced using synthetic fibres which can be prone to pilling, shrinking and fading. You will also notice that quality materials are closely knitted and woven together in vertical or horizontal weaves with no gaps between the yarn. Clothing made with thin or loosely woven fabric is more likely to tear, stretch and lose its shape. Another thing to note is alterations and tailoring can be easier on garments made of high quality.

Ultimately, clothing made with good quality fabric tends to fit better, maintain it’s shape and last longer compared to low-grade items. It may seem more expensive at first but you will save time, money and stress as these items withstand the test of time and will not need to be replaced as often as clothing made with lower quality fabrics.
